Landscape Contractor Support

Practical design, clear direction, and expert guidance for the contractors who build the work.

Landscape contractors are experts in construction, installation, and problem-solving in the field. What many need is a partner who can take the design burden off their shoulders, provide clear and buildable plans, support their clients, and help them win new work. I serve as an extension of your team—your dedicated landscape architect. I provide the design, documentation, and technical clarity you need so you can stay focused on what you do best: building great work and providing exceptional service.

My involvement helps streamline projects, eliminate guesswork, reduce costly mistakes, and elevate the overall client experience. Contractors often tell me that having a designer they can trust makes their workflow smoother, their communication clearer, and their results more predictable.

Contractors rely on me for many different aspects of their work. Some ask for schematic designs to present to homeowners or builders; others come to me for clean, contractor-ready drawings that installation crews can follow without confusion. I assist with planting and irrigation design, hardscape layouts, drainage and grading guidance, HOA and ARC approval packages, on-site evaluations, construction-phase support, bid clarifications, value engineering, and even homeowner presentations when a more polished and professional approach is needed. Whether you need help on a single project or ongoing support across an entire workload, I tailor my involvement to fit your needs.

Clear design direction matters. Contractors often lose time and profit when plans are unclear or incomplete. HOA delays, drainage problems discovered too late, planting plans that fail, or rework caused by misaligned expectations can all disrupt a project. A thoughtful design process dramatically reduces these issues. With solid plans and clearly defined scope, you can win more jobs, protect margins, reduce rework and callbacks, avoid code and HOA complications, and strengthen both professionalism and client satisfaction. Simply put, your work becomes easier, cleaner, and more profitable.

My process fits naturally into the way contractors operate. We begin with a straightforward conversation about the job scope, the client’s needs, and the site conditions. I then develop schematic concepts for your review. Once we establish direction, I produce clear, buildable drawings your crews can follow confidently. If needed, I assist with presentations to clients or preparation of HOA/ARC documentation. Throughout construction, I remain available for clarifications or on-site review. You determine how involved you want me to be, and I adapt to your workflow.

My fee schedule depends on the scope of each project and is always presented clearly at the outset. Most contractor-support projects are offered as a flat fee that typically includes one or two revisions, giving you predictable costs and a clear understanding of what is included. Larger, more complex, or multi-phase projects may use a different structure, but the goal remains the same: transparency, simplicity, and practical value that supports your business.

This service is ideal for landscape contractors, design-build firms, irrigation and drainage specialists, hardscape professionals, outdoor living builders, and pool contractors who need coordinated landscaping around their installations. It offers a practical and flexible way to provide professional design without the overhead of hiring in-house staff.

My work with contractors is supported by more than thirty years in landscape architecture and design-build experience. I am a multi-state licensed landscape architect and also hold a license in ornamental horticulture. With additional insight from my experience as a licensed Realtor, I understand homeowner expectations, budget pressures, and the qualities that make a project both functional and appealing. This combination allows me to produce designs that are attractive, realistic, efficient to build, and easy for crews to execute.

If you want stronger designs, clearer direction, or a dedicated landscape architect to support your projects, I would be glad to help.
