A Life in Design and Service

I am passionate about the wise use and thoughtful development of our natural environment—and equally devoted to the people who inhabit it. My mission is to integrate people and place in a way that fosters harmony, resilience, and enduring value.

Born in Chicago, Illinois, and raised in diverse locations across the U.S. and overseas, I ultimately found my way to Mandeville, Louisiana, where I completed high school before serving in the United States Coast Guard. Those years instilled in me a deep respect for discipline, teamwork, and purpose—principles that continue to guide my professional life.

After completing my service, I earned a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from LSU’s nationally ranked Robert Reich School of Landscape Architecture, one of the top programs in the country. Today, I continue to advance my professional knowledge through graduate studies at Tulane University Law School, pursuing a Master of Jurisprudence in Environmental Law.

Professional Practice

My professional journey began with small residential landscapes and garden designs—humble beginnings that taught me the importance of detail, craftsmanship, and client trust. Over time, I expanded into estate design and management, commercial site planning, public recreation, and municipal-scale projects. My portfolio now includes residences, civic plazas, institutional gardens, swimming facilities, and even regional land use and transportation plans.

Across over three decades of practice, I’ve been privileged to serve a wide spectrum of clients: private homeowners, developers, corporations, municipalities, and government agencies. Each project, regardless of size or scope, reflects my commitment to quality, integrity, and collaboration.

Philosophy

I believe landscape architecture is more than design—it’s stewardship. Each site tells a story of people and place, and my role is to bring those elements into balance. My approach blends creative vision with technical expertise, offering practical, code-compliant solutions that connect beauty, function, and environmental responsibility.

I consider it an honor to serve my clients, my community, and the land itself—applying every skill, experience, and lesson learned to help create landscapes that endure.

Beyond Practice

In addition to my professional work, I’m dedicated to sharing knowledge and fostering collaboration across the landscape industry. Through my blog, I offer insights drawn from real-world experience in design, construction, and consulting. My published works, available through Blurb and national booksellers, expand on these themes—bridging design, craftsmanship, business, and environmental understanding for professionals and homeowners alike.

I am also developing online educational opportunities designed for landscape designers, contractors, and clients who wish to deepen their understanding of design principles, project management, and sustainable practice. These efforts reflect my ongoing commitment to elevating the profession and helping others succeed within it.
